Our Mission
PizzaHunter exists for one simple reason: to help you make better pizza at home. Whether you’re stretching your very first ball of dough or you’re chasing the perfect leopard-spotted Neapolitan crust in a backyard oven, we meet you where you are — with clear, tested, step-by-step guidance and zero snobbery.
We believe great pizza isn’t reserved for professional pizzaiolos. With the right dough technique, honest ingredients, and a hot oven, anyone can pull a blistered, cheesy, genuinely delicious pizza out of their own kitchen. Our job is to shorten the distance between your first attempt and your best slice.
What You’ll Find Here
PizzaHunter is organized into five sections that cover the whole journey from flour to slice:
- Pizza Recipes — reliable, kitchen-tested recipes for classics like Margherita and pepperoni, plus creative pies, breakfast pizzas, and even dessert pizzas.
- Dough & Crust Guides — everything about dough: mixing, kneading, fermentation, hydration, stretching, troubleshooting, and specialty doughs from sourdough to gluten-free.
- Pizza Styles & Toppings — deep dives into Neapolitan, New York, Chicago deep dish, Detroit, Sicilian, and more, plus cheese, sauce, and topping guides.
- Ovens & Equipment — honest buying advice and how-to guides for pizza ovens, steels, stones, peels, and every tool that touches your pizza.
- Pizza Culture & Ordering Guides — the fun side: pizza history, reheating science, party planning, pairings, and ordering like a pro.
How We Write
Every guide on PizzaHunter follows a few principles. Clarity over cleverness: we explain techniques in plain language, with weights in grams and cups, real temperatures, and real times. Honesty over hype: if a shortcut works, we say so; if a gadget isn’t worth your money, we say that too. Safety always: where food safety matters — cooking meats to a safe internal temperature, storing leftovers properly — we say so plainly. When in doubt about food safety, we recommend following your local food safety authority’s guidelines.
Who We Are
PizzaHunter is written by the PizzaHunter Team — home cooks and pizza obsessives who have burned, undercooked, and eventually perfected hundreds of pizzas in home ovens, on grills, and in backyard pizza ovens. We’re not a restaurant and we don’t sell pizza; we’re fellow enthusiasts sharing what we’ve learned, one slice at a time.
